Paula Mueller

EQwind – Founder

Paula started her career over a decade ago with Thierry GmbH, a world-leading German organization dedicated to providing quality assurance to the global automotive industry. Within seven years she was promoted from a part-time student to project coordinator and later to general manager of the Thierry branch in Shanghai, where she moved after attending a two-year intensive training at the company’s US headquarters.

After leaving Thierry, a six months sabbatical in Central America and a failed startup, she accepted a position at the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China. There she led the membership department and was responsible for the communication with top executives from world-renowned multinationals.

As a driven entrepreneur and world idealist, she decided to quit her job after almost three years and return to the startup scene by founding EQwind at the end of 2018. Her objective at EQwind is to develop innovative tools that challenge young individuals in China to excel in a global competitive environment by strengthening their Emotional Quotient (EQ).

Her love for the Chinese Great Wall drove her to enroll in an ivy university in Germany and major in East Asian Studies. The same program allowed her to come to China in 2009 and study side by side with some of China’s most fierce students at Peking University. Her thirst for knowledge and the desire to learn more about entrepreneurship allowed her to complete for a Harvard program in 2019.

Paula is also a mentor of young professionals and in her spare time she serves on the board of directors at IPWS (International Professional Women Society), an organization that focuses on empowering female professionals to shape the future of leadership worldwide.

She is fluent in five languages including Chinese and is passionate about traveling, currently passing the threshold of 50 countries visited.
